MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENCES

The medical laboratory science program at HHIHP prepares graduates to perform essential laboratory testing that is critical to the detection, diagnosis and treatment of disease. They perform tests on blood and body fluids in the areas of hematology, chemistry, blood banking, microbiology, serology and urinalysis, using microscopes, chemicals, computers and sophisticated automated equipment. In a medical laboratory, a team of highly skilled pathologists, technologists, technicians and phlebotomists works together to determine the presence, extent or absence of disease and help evaluate effectiveness of treatment.
