PHYSIOTHERAPY

The physiotherapy program also known as the physical therapy program prepares graduates with the knowledge and skills to apply evidenced based exercise, heat treatment and massage, prescriptions instead of drugs or surgical interventions in caring for patients who suffers from acute or chronic pain, physical and movement disorders as a result of injury, trauma or illness which have impacted their musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, neurologic, or endocrine system. For example, someone with a lung disease may need pulmonary rehabilitation, a heart patient may need cardiac rehabilitation, a motor vehicle accident patient or stroke patient may need physical rehabilitation. With the increase need of such services, it is imperative to provide quality education to train and equip future physiotherapist with the knowledge and skills to provide expert care giving services, to those needing rehabilitation post illness or injury given the complexity of the anatomy and physiology of the human system.
