The role of the nurse has evolved significantly over the years. According to the international council of nurses, the nurse is one who provides collaborative care to individuals across the lifespan, families, groups, either sick or well in their communities. The nursing program at HHIHP prepares qualified nurses, incorporate skills lab, simulation, and clinical experiences in the training of entry level nurses, empowering them to meet the increasing demands and complexity of providing competent and safe health care services to the sick, injured, disabled or dying. The nurse work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team of providers such as physicians, surgeons, respiratory therapist, physical therapist, social workers, medical laboratory technicians, pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, imaging technicians and many more providers.
